|Daniel F. Lenger, age 76, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at the Monroe County Hospital in Albia.
Daniel was born February 25, 1934 to Albert and Kathryn (Flahive) Lenger in Monroe County. He grew up and attended Hamilton school. After school Daniel served in the United States Army, stationed in Germany. On June 20, 1959 he married Alice Coleen Sterner at St. Peters Catholic Church in Lovilia. They shared 51 years of marriage.
He worked for Maytag, John Morrell, Gordon Massman Construction, Clow Manufacturing, and was a farmer all of his life. He was a member of St. Peterís Catholic Church in Lovilia. Daniel enjoyed being outdoors, riding his John Deere Gator, spending time with family, friends and his dog, Puppy.
Daniel is survived by his wife Coleen Lenger of Bussey; his children, Denise Fisher of Lovilia, Ann McCloud and Kenny Spears of Albia, Mary (Pat) Wynn of Albia, Danny Lenger of Newton, and Jim (Jenny) Lenger of Anamosa, IA; eleven grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren. Daniel is also survived by two brothers, Joe Lenger of Albia, and James (Nancy) Lenger of Bussey; two sisters, Theresa Lenger of North Liberty, and Marge (John) Comer of Norwalk.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Kathryn; a son Timmy in infancy; three brothers John, Ed, and David Lenger, and one sister, Pauline Conway.
A memorial has been established to St. Peterís Altar and Rosary of Lovilia.
