Benjamin Holobowicz, Sr., of Montgomery, Texas passed away on Friday, November 27, 2009 after battling lung cancer. He was born March 30, 1943 in New York City, New York to Francis and Katherine (Tsistinas) Holobowicz. He is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Konstanty (Koci) Holobowicz. He is survived by his wife and children and a sister Rose Johnson of Ilion, New York, brothers, Frank Holobowicz and wife Linda of Lincoln, Rhode Island, William Holobowicz and wife, Mary of Montgomery, Texas; grandchildren, Skylar, Kayla, Tyler, Shelby, Matthew, Stefanie, Samantha, Lyla, Jack, Samuel, Dominick, Dustin, Lucas, Corbin, Caleb, Chelsea, Preston and Connor, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He grew up in New York City, New York and attended New York schools, as well as, Brooklyn Automotive. He served his country in the U. S. Navy for four years. He worked and owned deli-hero shops on Long Island, New York. He later moved to Kellyville, New Hampshire in 1974 and then lived on Oak Street extension in Newport, New Hampshire. While living in New Hampshire, he worked for Joy Manufacting in Claremont, and Sturm Ruger in Guild. On November 21, 1992 he married his wife, Paula Morse in Newport, New Hampshire. They made their home in Enfield Center, New.Hampshire until moving to Montgomery, Texas in 2004. He had 13 children; Veronica Holobowicz of Keene, New Hampshire, Brenda Schechter and her husband Scott of Wilmot, New Hampshire, Benjamin Holobowicz, Jr., and his wife Amy of Sunapee, New Hampshire, George Holobowicz and his wife Angelena of Montgomery, Texas, Lt. Lance Holobowicz and his wife, Nichole of Fort Drum, NewYork, William McKinney, Jr., of Conroe, Texas, Robert McKinney and his wife, Jessica of Shelburne, Vermont., Scott McKinney and his wife, Ashley of Lebanon, New.Hampshire, Daniel Holobowicz of Denton, Texas, Monica Holobowicz of Montgomery, Texas, David Holobowicz of Montgomery, Texas, Rosa Holobowicz of Montgomery, Texas, and Marina Holobowicz of Montgomery, Texas.

Benny loved driving his motorhome, whether it be traveling around the USA or going to the beach. He loved deep sea fishing. His greatest joy in life to him was his family. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren. They were a souce of great pride and joy to him.

Deacon Steve Miller will conduct funeral services on Monday, November 30th at 7:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, Montgomery, Texas. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, November 30th from 5p.m. until time of service.
