Jack H. Sellars, age 94 , a longtime resident of Fairfield died Tuesday, June 14, 2011
at the Halcyon House in Washington, IA.
Jack was born June 24, 1916 in Keokuk County, Iowa, the son of Logan and Berenice Wade Sellars. He was a 1934 graduate of the Richland High School and received his B.A. degree from Parsons College.
He lived most of his adult life in Fairfield.
Jack married Ruth Carter on May 27, 1941.
He was Director of Materials at the Dexter Company until his retirement in 1981.
Jack served as a Sergeant during World War II in the Signal Corps attached to the Army Air Corps.
Jack was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fairfield, Fairfield Lions Club, the Elks Lodge and the V.F.W..
Deceased family members include his parents and 1 sister Agnes Peterson.
Surviving are his wife Ruth and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield with Reverend Julie Poulsen officiating.
Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. at the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.
Memorials have been established to the First United Methodist Church in Fairfield,
The Fairfield Public Library or to the Halcyon House in Washington, Iowa.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Raymond Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairfield.
