Lucile Hardaway Simpson Mc Clurg, age 94, of Fairfield died Wednesday afternoon, February 17, 2010 at the Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.
Born January 5, 1916 at Lohrville, Iowa the daughter of Sheldon P. and Eula Reha Chappell Hardaway.
Lucile grew up in the Newton community and graduated from Newton High School.
She graduated from Parsons College with a B.A. in music. She was the organist at the
First Presbyterian Church in Fairfield for 34 years.
She married Frank Le Roy Simpson on November 1, 1942 in Fairfield. He preceded her in death on July 13, 1981, she married Dr. Frank Haven Mc Clurg on December 31, 1986 in Fairfield, he died October 23, 1995.
Lucile was a founding member of Chapter MB- P.E.O.; Alpha Gamma Delta, Abracadabra, longtime member of the Fairfield Golf and Country Club, Gastro-group and a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Deceased family members include her husbands, her parents and her sister Mildred Tribby.
Surviving is her daughter Laura Simpson of Fairfield.
Cremation has been accorded.
A memorial service will be at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, February 27th at the First Presbyterian Church in Fairfield with Pastor Joe Phipps officiating
Interment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery.
A memorial has been established to P.E.O. scholarships.
Arrangements are in the care of the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.
