James Michael Garner, 60, of Decatur, IL died at 6:00 P.M., Monday, July 11, 2005 with his family at his side.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 P.M., Friday, July 15, 2005 at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 16, 2005 at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery, Decatur, IL with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard.

Memorials may be made to DMH Hospice, 3122 Brettwood Circle, Decatur, IL 62526.

James was born December 27, 1944 in Quincy, IL. He was a U.S. Navy Vietnam veteran, serving on the U.S.S. Sam Houston, a Nuclear Submarine. He married Patricia Ann Baker on June 3, 1977 in Decatur, IL. James worked at Caterpillar Tractor Company for 31 years as a Design Engineer. He was a member of the Elks BPOE #401, the Decatur Ski Klub of Illinois, the co-founder of Country Cloggers, formerly Decatur Prominators, a member of Country Squares of Warrensburg.

Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Patricia, sons, Daniel Garner and wife Jill of Chicago, IL and John Garner and wife Tracey of Taylorville, IL, three grandchildren, Brent, Holly and Brandon Garner of Taylorville, IL.
