Margaret Lennea Ellsberry, age 87 of Wahoo, died Sunday December 14, 2003 in Wahoo.

She was born September 5, 1916 at Kewanee, Illinois to Claus Einar and Judith (Kling) Erickson. Following graduation from Kewanee High School she worked at “The Vogue”, a retail stored owned by her brother-in-law. On June 1, 1937 she married Virgil B. Ellsberry at Kewanee, Illinois. Virgil died November 7, 1980. The couple moved to Wahoo in 1952 and both worked at the Anderson-Hultin Company in Wahoo. Margaret later worked at Miller and Paine in Lincoln for a number of years, and then worked as a nurse’s aide at the Saunders County Hospital and at the Haven House until her retirement following a stroke. She enjoyed sewing and embroidery, and playing pinochle at the Sr. Center as well as with her family and her pinochle club. The family took many train trips back to Illinois to visit relatives. In her later years, Margaret enjoyed watching game shows on television. Her grandchildren always brought her special joy.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by grandson James Kolterman, and sister and brother-in-law Richard and Helen Campbell.

Margaret is survived by son and daughter-in-law Richard B. and Kathleen Ellsberry of Cincinnati OH; daughter and son-in-law Sharon and John Kolterman of Wahoo; grandchildren John and Jane Kolterman and Bryan and Mark Ellsberry; and great-grandsons Noah, Samuel and Grant Kolterman.
