|Alvira Rose (Laabs) Haase, daughter of Reinhold and Martha (Mienke) Laabs was born December 14,1919, in Fenton, Iowa. She went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, November 26, 2008, at her daughter's home in Conroe, Texas at the age of 88 years, 11 months, and 12 days.
Alvira was born and raised on a farm 2 miles from Fenton, Iowa, and received her education in the rural country school and Fenton school system.
On December 14, 1938, Alvira was united in marriage to Clifford Walter Haase in Fenton, Iowa. They lived in the Fenton and Algona area for 32 years before travelling and working in Iowa, Arizona, Texas and Mississippi. Alvira worked in the office of several large department stores most of her working career.
Left to cherish her memory are her son Lee Wilfred Haase of Minnesota; daughter Karen Marie Proctor of Texas; grandchildren Tina Findlay, Carol Sullivent, Christina Holloway, Brian and Joie Haase, and Cassie Haase; 9 great grandchildren; her sisters Alice Schmidt and Irene Wolf; and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Alvira was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clifford, grandson Nicholas Haase, brothers Wilfred and Arnold Laabs, and sisters Florence Renfrow and Mabel Mortensen, as well as several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
