| Michael “Mickey” Finn, 64, of Creston, died Saturday, August 9, 2008 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 13 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Creston. Father Glen Wilwerding will officiate. Burial will be at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Caulksville, Ark. on Friday, August 15 and Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter at a later date.
Open visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 12 at Powers Funeral Home in Creston with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Michael Avery Finn, son of Mary Elizabeth (Hogan) Finn and Hilson Avery Finn, was born August 11, 1943 in Lebanon, Mo. He graduated from Bailey Technical Schools in St. Louis, Mo. in 1962. He joined the Navy in 1962, completed basic training in San Diego and served at the naval air facility in Adak, Alaska and in Vietnam on the USS Buck. He left the military in 1966.
He married Karon Soller on July 1, 1967 in Lebanon, Mo. He worked as an appliance repairman for several years, moved to Guthrie Center in 1974, and then he and Karon bought the Sears Catalog Store in Creston in 1980.
In 1992, they opened Western Auto in Creston and ran it for 10 years together. He later worked for Cooks Appliance.
Mickey is a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 70 and Creston Kiwanis Club. He loved fishing, storytelling, and could fix almost anything.
Mickey is survived by his wife, Karon (Soller) Finn of Creston; three daughters, Michele Burroughs and husband Marty of Oskaloosa, Ia., Beth Spear and husband Tim of Kingwood, Texas, and Nancy Gragg and husband Jeff of Grimes, Ia.; two sons, Jeff Finn of Iowa City, Ia. and Scott Finn and wife Wendy Radcliff of Charleston, W.Va.; his mother, Mary Finn of Springfield, Mo.; brothers John and Stanley Finn; sister Patricia Vogt; and nine grandchildren Jacquelyn, Margaret, Ceclia, Ryan, and Aurora Spear; Iris and Maxwell Finn, and Jake and Luke Gragg.
Mickey was preceded in death by his father, Hilson Finn, and a sister, Barbara Ann Baldwin.
