| |  | Charles W. Fowler, fondly known as “Shorty”, 85, of Muncie, IN, formerly of Farmland, passed away suddenly, July 6, 2008. He was born July 29, 1923 in Bentonville, IN the son of Raymond and Ruth (Moisner) Fowler. He grew up in Hagerstown, graduating from Hagerstown H.S. He was a Tool designer, having worked at Perfect Circle, Maul Bros. and Warner Gear. He later had worked at Sears and Roebuck. He honorably served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a member of Society of Tool Engineers and Madison Park Church of God in Anderson.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife of 63 years, Patricia Ann Fowler; a son, Randy Fowler (wife, Melissa) of Lapel, IN; a daughter, Penny White (husband, Dave) of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; three grandchildren, Michelle Witt (partner, Anna Marie Pendolino) of Palm Springs, FL Shane Grosvenor (partner, Melissa Snow) of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Christopher Fowler of Lapel, IN; two great grandchildren, his name sake, Andrew Josef-Charles Fowler of Lapel, IN and Ashley Grosvenor of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; his beloved canine friend, Bailey.
A service to celebrate Shorty’s life will be 10 am Monday, August 11, 2008 at Thornburg Memorial Chapel of Parker City, IN with Pastor Mike Schwartz officiating. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery of Farmland, IN. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 2-5 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Charlie never knew a stranger. His eager smile will be missed by all who knew him. Angels go before you, Dad!
