Betty Jane Kinnetz, daughter of Harold and Grace (McAllister) Spencer, was born May 23, 1937 in Emmetsburg, Iowa. She received her education in Emmetsburg and attained her G.E.D. through Iowa Lakes Community College. Betty also received her Associates Degree in Human Resources from I.L.C.C.
On August 16, 1953 Betty was united in marriage to Dale Kinnetz at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Emmetsburg. To this union three children were born. Dale and Betty were married for twenty seven years.
Betty was employed at Mileham’s Produce until 1963. She later worked at the Redwood Café and sold Avon products. Betty also worked at Horizons Unlimited in Emmetsburg. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Emmetsburg.
Betty loved playing BINGO and was always ready to go to a Casino with an optimistic attitude. She will be remembered as a very caring and giving person.
Betty died Sunday, November 12, 2006 at the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg, Iowa at the age of 69. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, John Spencer and Harold Spencer; a sister, Eva Thorinson; and a grandson, Jason Kinnetz.
She is survived by her twin sons, Terry Kinnetz and his wife, Tracy of North Richland, Texas, Larry Kinnetz of Emmetsburg, IA and her daughter, Cindy Opheim and her husband, James of Spencer, IA; eleven grandchildren, Trever Kinnetz, Trinca James, Toni Kinnetz, Tasha Kinnetz, Ryan Opheim, Kyle Opheim, Amy Opheim, Cody Opheim, Adam Kinnetz, Nathan Kinnetz and Tonya Jones; seven great grandchildren, Mikayla Kinnetz, Hailey Kinnetz, Sara Kinnetz, Zoey Wulf, Jack James, Owen Kinnetz and Emmary Kinnetz; a very dear friend, Anna Woods who has lived with Betty for nearly twenty years; as well as many other relatives and friends.
