| | | David K. Schmude, age 78, of Tomah, formerly of Omro, passed away at Tomah Veteran’s Hospital on Monday morning, October 19, 2009. He was born in Oshkosh on May 27, 1931, to Roland & Vera (Loewen) Schmude. He was educated in the Omro schools, then served in the U.S. Army from December 1954 to October 1958. He later worked for Kraft Foods. He had been a resident of Tomah VA Center since 1971. David enjoyed traveling and collecting knives and jewelry.
David is survived by his sister Bernice (Kenneth) Amundson, of Omro; nieces and nephews, Harold (Mary) Hoernke of Neenah, Faith Miller of Omro, Diana (Jim) Ludwig of Berlin, Jeffrey Amundson of Omro, Brian Amundson of Omro, Timothy Amundson of Van Dyne and Lynnette (Bob) Eckstein of Omro. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Margaret Hoernke.
In respect to David’s memory, family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, October 22, 2009, from 6:00 P.M. until the time of the Memorial Service at 7:30 P.M., with Fr. Joseph Mattern officiating. David will be laid to rest at Omro Junction Cemetery on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 1:00 P.M.
