  VIEW/SEND CONDOLENCES

Sophia "Pat" McIntyre, 89, entered the presence of the Lord just before sunrise on March 10, 2011. Jesus said, "Well done thou good and faithful servant; welcome home."

She was born January 7, 1922, in Daviess County, Kentucky, near Moseleyville, to Fletcher and Lula Kunze Moseley. She graduated from Daviess County High School and married Isaac "Ike" McIntyre. They were married for 47 years before his death.

Their marriage was a true love story filled with honor, dedication, and hardships, but always with selfless love that never dimmed. Sophia and Ike set an example for all, but especially for their children, Patricia, Raymond and Dorothy.

Sophia was Ike's true helpmate working together on the family farm near Boonville. Sophia was the "wind beneath his wings." She was a faithful Christian, an example for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all who knew and called her friend.

Sophia and Ike moved from Owensboro to Evansville during World War II to help the war effort. She prepared parachutes at the old Chrysler plant and later operated machines to make and polish bullets. Mom said the home front work was vital, and they wanted to help.

Sophia was the oldest member of Otter Creek General Baptist Church and had served in various positions over her 53 year membership. She and Ike donated the land on which the parsonage was built.

Her beloved son, Ray McIntyre (Lynn), died unexpectedly two years ago and is rejoicing with Ike to welcome her home.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia "Pat" Brooks (Donald) of Newburgh and Dorothy "Dotty" McKendree (Edward-deceased) of Boonville; a brother, Paul Fletcher Moseley (Carolyn) of Florida.
Sophia is also survived by eight grandchildren, Rebecca Brooks Benigni (Derick), Brent Brooks, Jon McKendree (Christie), Amanda McKendree Park (Jun), Carrie McKendree, Brynn McIntyre Osborn (Jason), Bryan McIntyre (Amanda) and Patrick McIntyre (Heather); great-grandchildren, Ivy Benigni, Brittany Brooks, Sophia Brooks (her namesake), Alanis Skye Melvin, Chelsea and Caleb McKendree, Samuel Gyan Park, Miles Fletcher Osborn, Noah Raymond McIntyre, and Kyrah, Makaylah and Ryan McIntyre. Also surviving are many loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 2 until 7 p.m. Sunday at Koehler's Funeral Home in Boonville and Monday from 9 a.m. until service at 10 a.m. Rev. Gene Koker officiating. Burial in Maple Grove Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Otter Creek GB Church.

Condolences and any special remembrance may be made online at www.koehlerfuneralhome.com.
