What is Pre-Arrangement?
Basically, pre-planning is the process of recording the decisions involved with a final arrangement before the death actually occurs. This may be done very simply, or you may provide much detail about your wishes. You may choose to prepay your final expenses, or just keep your information on file at the funeral home at no cost to you.

Prearrangement allows the open discussion of all of the options available to you when there is not the emotional stress of a recent death. This enables you to make informed and rational decisions. Prearranging your funeral provides peace of mind and can help to ease the emotional burden on your loved ones at the time of loss. It allows you to communicate your wishes to your family by recording your information and preferences.

By pre-planning or arranging your funeral, you make a very difficult time much easier for your loved ones. Many people struggle with questions like, "What would Mom have wanted?" or "Did Dad want cremation or burial?". By pre-planning your funeral, you answer those questions for your family. You should also consider involving your family in the pre-planning process because, when death occurs, it will be their responsibility to carry out your wishes. A good funeral plan must meet the needs and circumstances of the survivors as well as those of the decedent.

Funerals can be pre-arranged with or without financing, and the pre-arrangement service is offered free of charge. If you also choose to pre-finance your funeral, we will deposit your funds into a separate funeral escrow account, in your name, at a FDIC insured institution. Your money is safe, earning interest and insured against loss by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. If you should ever elect to cancel the pre-arrangement, the total principle and all accumulated interest in the account will be returned to you. (New York State law mandates that all contracts for pre-funded funerals executed by Medicaid applicants or recipients be irrevocable.)

Pre-arrangement consultation is available at the funeral home, or if you prefer, in the comfort of your own home. To schedule an appointment or discuss any concerns that you may have, simply call us at the funeral home and we will be pleased to help you. When we meet, we will be able to explain the choices available and give you assistance in selecting the services and merchandise that you feel comfortable with, both personally and financially.

Following the pre-arrangement conference, we will create a permanent file here at the funeral home, in which all of your wishes and personal history will be recorded. As a result, your information will always be available to us and for your family, should it be needed. We are able to give you confirmation of your plans for your own records, your family, and your attorney.

Please feel free to call us for help or additional information.
