Hildegard H. Wenders
Member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish
Hildegard (nee Tomiczek) Wenders, age 87, of Tonawanda, died Monday, March 16, 2009 at DeGraff Memorial Hospital. Born in Ratibor, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Maria (nee Pawlik) Tomiczek. Hildegard was a war bride and had been a resident of Tonawanda since coming to this country in1948. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish and had been a housekeeper at the rectory before retiring. She was the wife of the late Charles C. Wenders, who died January 17, 1987, and is survived by several nieces and nephews in Germany.
There is no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Wednesday at St. Francis Chapel on Adam Street in Tonawanda; the Rev. Michael Uebler officiating. Friends invited. Entombment will be cared for privately at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda.
