Helen T. Kohler
Member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish
Helen T. (nee Horvath) Kohler, age 92, of Tonawanda, died unexpectedly, Thursday, January 15, 2009, at DeGraff Memorial Hospital. Born in North Tonawanda, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Julia (nee Pocak) Horvath. Helen was a lifelong resident of the Tonawandas, a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church and the mother of the late James Kohler.
She is survived by her husband of seventy years, Joseph V. Kohler; a son, Joel (Denise) Kohler; a daughter-in-law, Christine Kohler; her grandchildren, Barbara Kohler, Jessica Logan and Marie (Derek) Henderson; her great-grandchildren, Jacob and Joshua Logan, James Will and Alexandra, Miranda and Ryan Henderson. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews and her dear friend, Myra Normandin.
There is no visitation. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM Monday at St. Francis Chapel on Adam Street in Tonawanda; the Rev. Michael Uebler officiating. If desired, memorials to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 73 Adam Street, Tonawanda, NY 14150, are preferred by the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda.
