NT Resident Was Navy Veteran
Thomas F. Berhalter, age 79,  of North Tonawanda, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, August 29, 2006, at DeGraff Memorial Hospital. Born October 24, 1926 in North Tonawanda, he was the son of the late Frank and Marie (nee Sullivan) Berhalter and was a Navy Veteran of both WWII and the Korean War. A lifelong resident of North Tonawanda, he was a member of Ascension Parish. He was employed at Roblin Steel in North Tonawanda for 28 years and then at Kenmore Builders Supply before retiring.
He is survived by his wife, Helen (nee Michlin) Berhalter; his daughter, Diane (Patrick) Callahan of Lockport; a sister, Alice M. Berhalter of Williamsville; and a brother, James (Grace) Berhalter of the Town of Tonawanda. Also surviving are two granddaughters, Megan and Erin Callahan, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 4-8 PM Thursday only at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Friday at Ascension R.C. Church on Robinson Street in North Tonawanda; the Rev. Joseph Marino officiating. Friends invited. Interment will be cared for privately at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
