Accomplished Musician
Robert "Bob" C. Bieger, age 75, of Williamsville, died Tuesday, March 7, 2006 in Williamsville View Manor. Born July 27, 1930 in Buffalo, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary (nee Deilinger) Bieger. He grew up in East Amherst and was a former union bricklayer. One of Buffalo's premier accordionists, Mr. Bieger began his musical career at age five playing steel guitar and piano. He performed at the Deutsches Haus in Buffalo for eighteen years, was a member of the German-American Musicians, and performed at the Strauss Ball at the Statler Hilton Hotel. As a member of the Frankfurters Band, Mr. Bieger made several recordings and played throughout Western New York, and in Canada, Germany and Austria.
Mr. Bieger is survived by his wife of 55 years, Alice Hergenroder Bieger; and his four children, Daniel Bieger of Bristol, Tennessee, Janis Bieger of Williamsville, Michael Bieger of Clarence Center, and Amy Bieger of Williamsville. Also surviving are five grandchildren, and three siblings, Everett Bieger, Nelson Bieger and Edna Trabert.
There is no visitation. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Zion Lutheran Church, 9535 Clarence Center Road, Clarence Center, at 10:30 AM on Monday, March 13th. Arrangements entrusted to the care of the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam & Seymour Streets, Tonawanda, New York.
