Janet M. Bliss
Lifelong Tonawanda Resident
Janet (nee Lake) Bliss, age 81, of Tonawanda, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at Kenmore Mercy Hospital. Born November 30, 1924 in Tonawanda, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Gertrude (nee Karp) Lake and was a lifelong resident of Tonawanda. A member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, she had been employed as a bookkeeper at Certified Travel in North Tonawanda before retiring.
She is survived by her husband, Franklin J. Bliss; two daughters, Margaret Crawford and Rebecca (Stephen) Parisi; and a sister, Nancy (Leonard) Idziak. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
There is no visitation. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at 10 AM Friday, January 6, at St. Francis Chapel on Adam Street in Tonawanda. If desired, memorials to the American Cancer Society, 101 John James Audubon Parkway, Amherst, NY 14228-1198, are preferred by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda.
