John A. Bratty, Jr., age 68, of the Town of Tonawanda, died Sunday, October 9, 2005 at his residence, after a brief illness. Born November 21, 1936 in Winton, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late John A. Bratty, Sr. and had been a resident of the Town of Tonawanda for more than 45 years. On May 5, 1962, he married the former Ann Judith "Judy" Watson in Buffalo. He was employed as a Senior Employment Counselor for the NYS Department of Labor, Division of Employment in Buffalo, until becoming disabled in 1974. Jack was an amateur radio operator whose call sign was KT2V, a member of the Quarter Century Wireless Club and Radio Amateurs of Western New York. He was the brother of the late George B. Bratty.
He is survived by his wife, Judy (nee Watson) Bratty; his mother, Blanche Bratty of Kenmore; and two brothers, Roger (Maria) Bratty of Akron, and Phillip (Georgia) Bratty of Fredrick, Colorado. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
There is no visitation. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at 7 PM on Friday, October 21st, at St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church, Brighton and Fries Roads in the Town of Tonawanda. Interment was cared for privately at Holy Cross Cemetery in Lackawanna. If desired, memorials to the Town of Tonawanda Paramedics and Volunteer Firemen, 1835 Sheridan Drive, Town of Tonawanda, NY 14150, or to St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church are preferred by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the care of the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda.
