David L. Bentley

Professional Ballroom Dance Instructor

David L. Bentley, age 65, of Kenmore, died Monday, September 19, 2005 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Buffalo, after a long illness. Born August 30, 1940 in Buffalo, he was the son of the late Lee and Rita (nee Lawley) Bentley and was an Air Force Veteran serving from 1959 until 1963. He was a professional Ballroom Dance instructor and competition judge for Social and International Dance. Mr. Bentley was a member of the National Dance Council of America and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing. He was the brother of the late Kathleen (Richard) Munt.

He is survived by his wife, Janice (nee Lamberti) Bentley; a son, Eric L. Bentley; and two sisters, Karen (Andrew) Wauriw and Judith (Joseph) Barry. Also surviving are his dear friend and dance partner, Sue Ebersole, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8:30 PM on Thursday only at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda, where funeral services will be held at 8:30 PM Thursday; the Rev. Msgr. John Ducette officiating. Friends invited. If desired, memorials to the VA Hospice Unit, c/o VAWNY Health Care System, 3495 Bailey Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14215, are preferred.
