John H. Anson
Longtime resident of Warsaw
John H. Anson, age 80, of North Tonawanda, died Sunday, August 7, 2005, at his residence after a long illness. Born July 11, 1925 in Iroquois Falls, Ontario in Canada, he was the son of the late Frank and Edna (nee Wheeler) Anson, and had been a resident of Warsaw for more than 40 years, before moving to North Tonawanda two years ago. An Army Veteran of WWII, he earned a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and attended Columbia University. Mr. Anson worked as an accountant at Holotek in Rochester, before retiring, and was the treasurer for the United Church of Warsaw for many years. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed nature and the outdoors. He was the brother of the late Frank and Lawrence Anson.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia (nee Mitchell) Anson of North Tonawanda; a son, John (Patricia) Anson of North Tonawanda; and two daughters, Susan (Robert) Maggiacomo of Hermoso Beach, CA, and Beth (James) Cutler of Bainbridge Island, Washington. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Bennett and Alexandra Maggiacomo, Nolan Anson, and Hannah Cutler.
There is no visitation. Services were cared for privately at the convenience of the family. If desired, memorials to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094, are preferred by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the care of the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Tonawanda, NY.
