Doris Barabasz Leids
Former Girl Scout Leader
Doris (nee Burrows) Barabasz Leids, age 84, of Amherst, formerly of Cheektowaga, died Thursday, March 10, 2005, at her residence. Born December 6, 1920 in Buffalo, she was the daughter of the late Rubin and Lillian (nee Flickinger) Burrows, and had been a Girl Scout Troop leader. A member of St. Christopher's Parish, she was the wife of the late Frank J. Barabasz and Eugene Leids.
She was the loving mother of Renee (Fred) Abbott and Gordon W. Barabasz. Also surviving are her dearest granddaughter, Rosette Marie Abbott, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 4-8 PM Monday only at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 AM Tuesday at St. Christopher R.C. Church on Niagara Falls Blvd. in Tonawanda; Msgr. Francis Weldgen officiating. Interment at Williamsville Cemetery. If desired, memorials to the St. Christopher School Education Fund, 2660 Niagara Falls Blvd., Town of Tonawanda, NY 14150, are preferred by the family.
