Virginia E. Baldwin

Active Member of Her Church & Community

Virginia (nee Miller) Baldwin, of Tonawanda, died Saturday, January 8, 2005, after a long illness. Born in North Tonawanda, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Anna (nee Gademsky) Miller and was a lifelong resident of the Tonawandas. Mrs. Baldwin was a member of Salem United Church of Christ where she had been a Sunday School teacher, the Tonawanda Senior Citizens, the Historical Society of the Tonawandas, and was a life member of Fletcher School PTA. She was the wife of the late Robert W. Baldwin, who died in 1979, and sister of the late Harold W. Miller.

She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie (Paul) Fitzsimmons of Tonawanda, New York; her son, Douglas (Janice) Baldwin of Libertyville, Illinois; and four granddaughters, Susan (Jon) McEldowney, Tracy (John) Efthemis, Jennifer (Chad) Tarantino, and Karyn Baldwin. Also surviving are 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends after 1 PM Tuesday at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda, where services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday; Rev. Alice McDermott offficiating. Friends invited. Interment will be cared for privately at Elmlawn Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda, New York. If desired, memorials to Salem United Church of Christ, 114 Morgan Street, Tonawanda, NY 14150, are preferred by the family.
