Michel J. Brousse, age 77, of the Town of Lockport, died Thursday, January 6, 2005, at his residence after a long illness. Born June 9, 1927 in Galt, Ontario, Canada, he was the son of the late John and Corona (nee Bertram) Brousse and had been a resident of Tonawanda for most of his life, before moving to the Town of Lockport 11 years ago. He was employed at International Paper Company in North Tonawanda for many years, and then was the custodian at St. Francis Parish in Tonawanda, before retiring in 1988. Mr. Brousse was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon (nee Winney) Brousse; three sons, Michel (Susan) Brousse, Harold E. Brousse and Daniel J. Brousse; two daughters, Darlene (Mark) Daigler and Valerie (Mark) Plotner; and two brothers, Bertrand Brousse and Francis (Roni) Brousse. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 PM Sunday only at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Monday at St. Francis of Assisi Church on Broad Street in Tonawanda. Friends invited. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda. If desired, memorials to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094, are preferred by the family.
