Richard J. Barden, age 51, of Tonawanda, died Saturday, February 14, 2004, at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, after a long illness. Born in Buffalo, he was a lifelong resident of Tonawanda. An Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, Mr. Barden was a station manager for Sunoco Oil Products in Lockport, before becoming ill.

He is survived by his wife, Marcia L.A. (nee Dauscher) Barden; his mother, Patricia (nee Flynn) Barden of Tonawanda; and three sisters, Darlyne (Ronald) Swader, Debra (Larry) Krzak and Kim (Larry) Pacifico. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday only at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda, where a memorial service will be held at 8 PM. Friends invited. If desired, memorials to are preferred by the family.
