Leona A. Bielecki

Member of St. Francis Parish

Leona (nee Rogala) Bielecki, age 88, of Tonawanda, died Monday, June 9, 2008 at Brothers of Mercy Nursing Home, after a brief illness. Born in Buffalo, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Casimera (nee Rybarczyk) Rogala and had been a resident of Tonawanda since 1956. A member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, she was a former employee of Western Electric Corp. and worked at the Tonawanda High School Cafeteria before retiring. Mrs. Bielecki loved her grandchildren and enjoyed hearing of their accomplishments. She was the wife of the late Walter C. Bielecki, who died May 2, 1994.

She is survived by her son, Donald P. (Peggy) Bielecki of Clarence Center, NY; three grandsons, Jonathan Bielecki of Irondequoit, NY, Christopher (Silvia) Bielecki of Highlands, TX, and Brandon Bielecki of Clarence Center, NY; and a sister, Casimera Michalski of Buffalo, NY. Also surviving are 15 nieces and nephews, all of whom she cared for very much.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Wednesday only at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Thursday at St. Francis Chapel on Adam Street in Tonawanda; the Rev. Michael Uebler officiating. Friends invited. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda. If desired, memorials to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 73 Adam Street, Tonawanda, NY 14150, are preferred by the family.
