Mae E. Bunts
50 year Resident of Tonawanda
Mae (nee Tennant) Bunts, age 78, of Tonawanda, died Monday, May 5, 2003, at DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born in West Pittston, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ira and Martha (nee Players) Tennant and had been a resident of Tonawanda for more than 50 years. Married March 30, 1946, in Dover, NJ, she was the wife of Robert D. Bunts for more than 57 years. A member of the Christian Fellowship Baptist Church in Amherst, Mae enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, and her church. She was the sister of the late Elizabeth, Winnifred and Martha.
She is survived by her husband, Robert D. Bunts, Sr.; five sons, Wayne Bunts, Thomas Bunts, William Bunts, Terry (Valerie) Bunts, and Robert (Dawn) Bunts, Jr.; four granddaughters, Katie, Ashley, Carrie, and Kristine; a sister, Hazel Hoffman; and a brother, William (Leona) Tennant. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Thursday at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda, where funeral services will be held at 8:30 PM Thursday, the Rev. Carl Crate officiating. Friends invited. Interment will be cared for privately at Acacia Park Cemetery.
