Was saddened to see Van's passing in the paper. She was so helpful and supportive above and beyond what was required in helping us with Sara's wound care. Sara and I enjoyed her visits and she made the pain bearable. We are sure there is a special place for her in heaven. Waverly,Oh

Pete and Susie, I just heard the news about Van and was deeply saddened. I know this must be a very difficult time so please know that all your family are in my prayers. Van was a very special person and is now wrapped in the warmth of Jesus' arms. Tom Sollars

There are not enough words to tell how sad we are for your loss. I know Van is not suffering any more but all of us feel her loss. I am so thankful to her in so many ways. She helped care for Jim through a tough time early in his disease and she became such a treasured friend of ours. She use to call Jim when she was at a nascar race so he could hear the cars zooming past her cell phone. She was such a good soul and loved life so much. You are all very lucky to have had such a person in your family. We will keep you in our thoughts through this very difficult time.

Words cannot express nor thoughts convey what alone the heart feels. We will continue to lift you and your family in prayer through this difficult time. Ray and Sherry (Kearns) Poynor

To Van's family: My heartfelt condolences to her loved ones. I remember Van Hale from my High School days. She was a wonderful, beautiful and "full of life" teenager and I'm sure she was the same throughout her life. Sounds like God needed a good nurse to help him out. God Bless all of you. Respectfully, Reed Hunt, Winter Springs, Fl.

My thoughts and prayers will be with all the family. I went to school with Van but moved away and hadn't seen her in years. She was a sweet and very pretty lady. May God be with all of the family at this hard time.

Another thing: Van is the reason I hate CATS! One day after school I went home with her and she let me enter her house first but she didn't tell me that her cat would wait on her everyday after school and jump on her!! The cat jumped on me, a siamese cat. And I haven't like cats since 1973!! Love you Van Hale!!! RIP

Words can not express how I feel. Coming to JHS from the country school of Jackson Local back in the 70's, she was one of the first people that I became friends with and we remained friends until her death. She did not see color, but she saw me. I loved her like my sisters and will always remember the great times we had. I moved away but stayed in contact. A member of our pack is missing but she will never be forgotten. She will remain in my heart. Rhonda, you were the love of her life and she would always smile when she talked about you. Continue to do good work!! And let's try to find a cure for this ugly disease called ALS. Love you Van Hale!!!

We will all miss Van so much. No one else on earth could care for my daughter Hannah but Van. Once a Children's a nurse was unable to do Hannah's blood draw and she told her Van can! What a bond those two had. Thank you Van for being such a part of our life. Love,The Padgetts

I only worked with Van a short time, but we made a connection from the beginning. Not a day has gone by that I haven't thought about her. She was a wonderful, vibrant woman.
