The family of Helen Margaret Arndt has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City in her memory.

Helen Margaret Arndt was born on September 14, 1915, in rural Rockwell, the daughter of Herman and Anna (Hansen) Stoltenberg. Helen was baptized and reaffirmed the faith of her baptism through confirmation in the Lutheran faith in Rockwell. She attended and received her education in the rural Rockwell schools. She was united in marriage to Howard Arndt on July 4, 1933. After their marriage Helen was a stay at home mom where she loved and cared for her family.

She enjoyed sewing, embroidering, writing and sending cards to family and friends, baking, cooking, and keeping a record of the daily weather, but her great love and enjoyment was spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Mason City.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Robert Arndt and his wife Darlene of Mason City, Donald Arndt of Scranton, PA, and Charles Arndt and his wife Kay of Enid, OK, five grandsons, five granddaughters, nineteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter, two brothers, Walter “Boot” Stoltenberg and his wife Maxine of Nora Springs, and Roger Stoltenberg and his wife Donna of Mason City, as well as several nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Her parents, husband, Howard, and two brothers, Eddie and Virtus Stoltenberg, preceded Helen in death.
