William Albert Aebersold
1943 – 2007

William Albert “Bill” Aebersold, 64, Savannah, Missouri, died Monday, November 26, 2007 in his home. Bill was born September 5, 1943 at Savannah, Missouri. Bill attended Missouri University. He served with the U.S. Army in Korea during the Vietnam Era. Bill married Joan Luke on January 25, 1969 at Conception Junction, MO. He worked for Carnation Company, Elwood, KS for 9 years; was a fieldman for Farm Service Agency and a lifelong farmer. Bill attended St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and was a member of the American Legion Dick Munkres Post 287, Savannah, for 39 years. He loved farming, mushroom hunting and had a great love for his family. His parents, Herman Louis Aebersold and Mary Eleanor (Holt) Jenkins preceded Bill in death. Survivors: his loving wife of 38 years, Joan Aebersold, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, William Jeffrey and Beth Aebersold, Prairie Village, KS; daughters and sons-in-law, Angela and Jeff George, Savannah, MO; Amy and Jon Hamel, Rosemount, MN; Melinda McDonald, Savannah, MO; sister and brother-in-law, Judith and Virgil “Dick” Johnson, Savannah, MO; 9 grandchildren, Scott George, Tristin George and wife, Dannetta, Tanner, Max and Brady Aebersold, Evan and Austin Hamel, Haden and Corbin McDonald; 2 aunts, Helen Fothergill, Savannah, MO and Dorothy Aebersold, St. Joseph, MO; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Celebration of Life: 10 AM Thursday, November 29, 2007 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 705 Hall St., Savannah, MO. Interment in Savannah, Missouri Cemetery with flag folding and presentation by American Legion Dick Munkres Post 287. Wake service will be 5:30 PM Wednesday at St. Rose of Lima Church and visitation will follow at the church until 8:00 PM. The family suggests memorials to Hands of Hope Hospice or St. Rose of Lima Church. Arrangements entrusted to Breit-Hawkins & Gladden Funeral Home, Savannah.
