Mrs. Adele T. (Gancarz) Czubryt, 89, of 3 Francis Ave. Adams, died Saturday morning, March 14th, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.
She was born in Savoy, MA on March 15, 1919, a daughter of the late Augustyn and Julia (Gawlak) Gancarz. She attended schools in Savoy, and lived in Adams since her youth.
Mrs. Czubryt last worked at the former Blackinton Mill in North Adams. Earlier, she had worked at the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Co. in Adams and the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams. She also served as a cook at St. Stanislaus Elementary School in Adams for several years.
She was a communicant of the former St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish, Adams.
Her husband, Frank A. Czubryt, whom she married on October 16, 1937, died on May 29, 1977.
She is survived by 2 sons, Frank A. Czubryt, Jr. and Henry J. Czubryt, both of Adams;
2 grandchildren Jonathan D. Czubryt and Rachel M. Czubryt, both of Adams;
1 brother, Alfred Gancarz, of Adams;
4 sisters, Rose Colley of Brea, California; Wanda Kieltyka of Adams; Celia Bloniarz of Savoy, and Helen Michalski of Cheshire; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law; Mary (Marcil) Czubryt; a granddaughter, Rebecca Czubryt; 2 brothers, John and Walter Gancarz, and by 3 sisters, Stacia Krzeminski, Kathryn Bieniek, and Blanche Gebarowski.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 18th, at 10:30 AM from the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in the Parish Church of Pope John Paul the Great, Adams, celebrated by Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, Pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Adams.
Calling hours will be Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, Pittsfield, through the funeral home.
